Cape May, NJ

Down The Shore

2024

My heart always races with excitement when I think about the New Jersey Shore. The shore’s captivating beauty is a testament to nature’s artistry, making it a prime location for those of us who find solace and inspiration behind the lens. Among the various gems along the New Jersey coastline, Cape May stands out as a beacon for bird watchers and photographers alike, particularly during the thrilling transition seasons of Spring and Fall.

Cape May is renowned for its incredible avian diversity, thanks to its strategic location on the Atlantic Flyway. Each year, thousands of shorebirds pass through this vibrant area on their migratory journeys. Spring and Fall offer the best opportunities to witness this grand spectacle. During these times, Cape May transforms into a bustling hub of migratory activity, with species ranging from the striking Red-Winged Black Bird to the powerful Osprey gracing its skies. (Did you know that Cape May is also home to the highest concentration of nesting Osprey in New Jersey?)

Cape May's natural splendor is not just about birds. The region’s unique habitats, from salt marshes to sand dunes, create a rich collection of ecosystems that provide endless opportunities to explore nature

Cape May offers a unique blend of natural wonders. I invite you to immerse yourself in this vibrant environment.
